Taking Care of Business

Our Minnesota visit came to an end this week. We spent two more weeks "moochdocking" at my nephew's place in Isanti the first half of August and spending time with my brother, George, and sister-in-law, Bev.  I also got in a lunch with my ACS family before leaving the area.

ACS Motion Control lunch.  We picked up food
and took it to a nearby park to eat and visit.

From Isanti, we headed south again to Lake Washington County Park & Campground in Kasota for a last visit with Mark's daughter, Maegan, and her family. Lake Washington is a nice campground, but it's electric only - no water or sewer services. Mark and I are getting pretty good at conserving water for a week or so. The only casualty is laundry. I don't usually bother with laundromats unless I absolutely have to.

Maegan invited us to church this past Sunday. It was so nice to be in a real church service again. That evening we headed back to the Mayos to help celebrate Arick's birthday (our oldest grandson).

We finally left Minnesota on Monday, the 17th, for South Dakota. We've been camped at the Big Sioux Campground, a state park. Again, we have no water or sewer, just electric. But it's a beautiful park with nice spacious sites, and perfectly fine for a four-day stay.

The first thing we did upon our arrival in our home state was to take care of some very important business:  apply for absentee ballots. This is one election we cannot ignore! And when we send them back in, we're not trusting the U.S. Post Office to deliver-- they'll be going UPS or FedEx. I want to make certain they arrive in time to be counted.

Also this week, Mark put in some new faucets in our kitchen and bathroom sinks. Now if I was worth my salt as a blogger, I would have "before and after" pictures. Sorry. One of these days... maybe.

Tomorrow we head for Rapid City. It's a very long drive - about 380 miles. We usually restrict our travel to about 250 miles in a day unless we're on a mad dash somewhere. But sometimes that rule is just not very practical. We'll get an early start and take a few extra rest stops along the way.

That's it for now.

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." --Philippians 4:4-7
